Today Kate and I came into school to create the film ident and finish our 2 minute film opening. We created the film ident on Adobe Premiere Pro. The film ident is dark and gloomy clouds in the sky floating past the screen and as they go past it uncovers the name of our film production company (Revolution Pictures). Also, in the background we added a wind noise and a thunderclap to add eeriness. I like the ident because it fits our film which is dark and mysterious, if the ident used bright colour and had a happy atmosphere it wouldn't fit our film and would look weird when the ident switches to the film.
We then used IMovie on the MacBook to edit the opening two minutes of our film. We used IMovie to cut the film footage up to make it shorter, used it to cross cut between the two locations and added effects to the footage to make it look old and darker so you know something bad is going to happen rather than the footage looking bright and happy. We also added in titles, and the film title (THE MISSING ELEMNETS). Originally we thought that the plot would be two men going about their daily work until they discover dead bodies, however after showing out film opening to some media students in year 13 they thought it looked as if the scientist was part of the killing because he was lighting a bunsen burner and fire is usually something you represent with danger and the fact he was pouring chemicals was as though he was plotting ways to kill people. And that's how we came up with the name THE MISSING ELEMENTS because we thought we should change it so that further in the film you find out that the scientist has something to do with the deaths and the missing elements relates to the scientist and represent missing bodies.
